FBUC BENEFITS

There are many benefits when joining FBUC. The club system provides divers with an environment where skills and knowledge can be shared between new and experienced divers. Diving is by nature a social sport, and divers in a club help and train others simply for the love of the sport.

The benefits of diving with the club are regular dive buddies, meeting new friends and sharing a good time by doing the sport we all love. An email notification providing details of the venue, time, and location and contact details of the Dive Leader is emailed out weekly.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

Membership cards are available to all Paid Up members of FBUC.  If you have not received you club card, please kindly contact the Executive Secretary.

TRAINING

The club offers a variety of courses throughout the year, ranging from 1 star all the way to instructor programmes. The certifications are both CMAS and SSI, both internationally recognised.

We have 14 instructors who are qualified to teach CMAS, IANTD, PADI, DAN, ASHI and NAUI courses, with all courses run part-time on week nights and weekends. Some of the courses we do are:

EQUIPMENT RENTALS

Equipment is only hired out to paid-up members and can be arranged on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm, or by prior arrangement with the equipment officer.

The price is R50 per item per week (DV, BC, or cylinder), with a deposit of R100 for any rental. The deposit can be carried over from week to week in case of re-rental.

The monthly rental price is R300 per set per month i.e. BC, DV, Tank, with a deposit of R200.

Fines will be charged for late returns, unwashed equipment and cylinders emptied completely or damaged & lost equipment. For further information, please refer to the information in the equipment room or ask our Equipment officer, Adriaan Johnson.

UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY

Some of the club members are very active in the underwater photography world and there are some exciting developments in the digital photography field and our Photography Officer, Andrew Taylor will be running some workshops and courses.
