OUR VISION AND VALUESThe objectives of the Club shall be to foster, develop and encourage all aquatic sports, especially the sports and activities of Scuba diving, Spearfishing, Underwater Photography, Underwater Hockey, Underwater Research and generally to do all things necessary and reasonable to develop a fraternal spirit amongst outdoor enthusiasts. Our values can be summarised in the words: Education, Passion, Union towards a common goal, Enjoyment, Fun, Friends, Social, but most of all Underwater Safety. THE CLUB HOUSEOur club has been in existence for over fifty years and is the oldest underwater club in Cape Town. The clubhouse is open every Wednesday night from 19:30 and is situated under the Wetton Road Bridge in Wynberg. The entrance is on Belper Rd, off Kildare Rd. THE COMPRESSOROn Wednesday nights we do air fills at the club for free to members and R20 for non-members. We are also equipped with Nitrox and Trimix filling facilities. It is advisable to arrive early and book your fills in the manual so that we can fill all the cylinders in a reasonable time (while you visit the bar). The compressor is the heart of the club and we take great care to ensure its good maintenance. As fills are mostly free, most of your subs money goes towards the equipment in the room. Last year, we started a voluntary compressor fund, located at the bar, where members can contribute additional donations towards the on-going repairs and future replacement of the compressor. THE COMMITTEE The committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting that occurs in June. It is through the help of these volunteers that we are able to progress some of the initiatives that keep the club running well.
