Welcome to the False Bay Underwater Club. The diving club is situated in Belper
Road, Under the Wetton Road Bridge in wynberg in Cape Town, and serves members from
all over the Cape Town area. The club has been going for over 60 years, and we are
proud to say that it’s the oldest diving club in South Africa. We currently have
over 120 active members. Members comprise of a wide range of divers ranging from
novice divers to technical experts. Being part of the club offers divers a wonderful
opportunity to engage with other active divers around Cape Town. But it’s not only
about diving, our club offer social activities throughout the year, competitions,
courses, gear hire, free weekend social dives and Wednesday evening get togethers.
The clubhouse is open every Wednesday night from 19:30 till around 22:30.

The objectives of the Club shall be to foster, develop and encourage all aquatic
sports, especially the sports and activities of Scuba diving, Spearfishing, Underwater
Photography, Underwater Hockey, Underwater Research and generally to do all things
necessary and reasonable to develop a fraternal spirit amongst outdoor enthusiasts.
Our values can be summarised in the words: Education, Passion, Union towards a common
goal, Enjoyment, Fun, Friends, Social, but most of all Underwater Safety.
